catch up

ok so i didnt blogg last weekend, probably cus im so wrapped up in this project. or am i just using that as an excuse..im not sure yet. anyway i'll start with last week, we went out on a very nice day and headed off to cenal vale( spelling), i put on my acting shoes and we basicly roughed out where and what we were going to film. after filming and returning to campass we copied the files to a hard drive and soon realised when we returned home that we needed a certian codec to read them.
heading back the next day to uni we converted the test footage and basicly had a mess around. I also startd to learn how to use matchmover, a piece of tracking software.
the tutorials provided with the software are actually very helpfull and i think ive got the basics and know a fair bit on the process of tracking now.
WEEK2
this week we waited until we head a good day for filming and spent about 4hrs i think gathering the footage we needed. we had takedn the highest possible resoulution and rendered out of footage to a quicktime file. this took an anoyingly long time so we called it a day. returning the next day i found a lovevly 102GB quicktime movie hehe.
obviously this was HUGE! so i then decided to place our fottage onto the local network so i could simultaneously render out all our files in the highest quality H.264 format.
shortly i recieved a nice 9GB file which is alot smaller than previous:D
ok so now onto what ive been messing around with...PARTICLES!!!
basicly relearning how to use it which is probably the hardest part and now attempting to controll the particles. ive found some footage of basicly the kind of look to achieve, and also after seeing The Wolf Man this evening the Fog in that is amazing and made me quite jealous hehe.
